What a tax practitioner gets

HisaabDesk Practice reads each client company in the Tally on your PC and turns it into a to-do list. It does not file returns and never logs in to the GST or income-tax portal – it shows what is due, what does not match and what was missed, so you file with confidence.

Across all your clients

  • Firm dashboard – your to-do list, most urgent first; due dates for the next four weeks; clients you are waiting on; and the clients who must pay tax this month.
  • Risks across clients – how many clients have TDS likely missed, MSME suppliers unpaid after 45 days, cash payments above ₹10,000, cash receipts of ₹2 lakh or more, suspense not cleared, cash going negative, bill numbers used twice, entries without narration, ITC in books above GSTR-2B, and backups older than two days.
  • Compliance calendar – GST (GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B, monthly and QRMP), TDS / TCS deposits and returns, ITR and ROC due dates, with the clients each one applies to – worked out from each client’s Tally. Mark done or not applicable.
  • Requests – ask a client on WhatsApp for the month’s bank statement, bills or answers, and see which requests are still open.
  • Calculators – GST late fee, TDS late-payment interest and late fee, advance-tax instalments, professional tax and MCA filing fees, each showing the rule it used.

For each client

  • GST – checks before filing, GSTR-1 data, and the GSTR-2B match with the purchase register.
  • TDS – deposits due by the 7th, party-wise payments for the year against the limits, and the nature of payment of each expense ledger – shown under section 393 of the Income-tax Act, 2025 with the old section (194C, 194J…) in brackets.
  • Income tax & audit – cash payments above ₹10,000, cash receipts of ₹2 lakh or more, MSME suppliers unpaid after 45 days, and data for the tax-audit report.
  • Professional tax – PT on salaries checked against the slabs of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal, and salaries booked without PT flagged.
  • Year-end pack – trial balance, schedules, debtors and creditors ageing, balance-confirmation letters and every ledger to Excel.

Why practitioners choose it

  • Client confidentiality – books are read on your PC; nothing goes to a cloud server.
  • No portal passwords – you load the files you download yourself.
  • Draft, then confirm – entries made with Bank to Tally or HisaabPrompt are drafts until you press Confirm.
  • Works with what you have – TallyPrime or Tally.ERP 9, one company per client, no change in how clients send data.

Available across India

Questions

Does HisaabDesk Practice file GST or TDS returns?

No. It checks the books in Tally and shows what is due and what does not match. You file on the portal or your filing utility as usual.

Which GSTR-2B formats can I load?

The JSON file or the Excel workbook that you download from the GST portal.

Are the TDS sections updated for the Income-tax Act, 2025?

Yes. From 1 April 2026 non-salary TDS is shown under section 393 with the old section (194C, 194J…) in brackets, at the rates and limits published for FY 2026-27. Check against the Act before filing; a release updates the table when the law changes.

What is the difference between GSTR-2A and GSTR-2B?

GSTR-2B is a fixed monthly statement of input tax credit generated from suppliers’ filings for the period; GSTR-2A changes as suppliers file. ITC is claimed on the basis of GSTR-2B.

Which states’ professional tax does it check?

Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. For other states it shows the PT deducted and paid without a slab check.

Why is February PT ₹300 in Maharashtra?

Maharashtra’s highest slab is ₹200 a month for eleven months and ₹300 in February, making ₹2,500 for the year – the most the Constitution allows per person.

How is it priced?

By the number of client companies you handle. Fill the short form on the accountants page and we send the price on WhatsApp within one working day.

Do my clients need to install anything?

No. Practice works with the client companies in the Tally on your PC.
